At the beginning of June, St Luke’s was honoured to host the Auckland regional service marking the Week of Ecumenical Prayer for Christian Unity. This is an annual focus of the international World Council of Churches and is celebrated all around the world. This year also included recognition of the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed. As well as clergy from our local Mt Albert churches (Anglican, Methodist, Catholic and Salvation Army), we welcomed regional leaders from the Anglican and Catholic Dioceses of Auckland and the Presbyterian, Methodist, Armenian Orthodox and Syrian Orthodox Churches. Bishop Ross was our preacher for the occasion.
